I have a Non O A multi entry visa due to expire in April. I plan to go out of the country briefly to get a visa stamp for a further 12 months before it expires. I understand that after the first 12 months it is no longer multi entry and I have to apply for a separate multi entry permit for the second 12 months. Can I get the multi entry permit before the first 12 months is up, after I have got the new visa stamp? Or do I have to wait until after the first 12 months is up? The problem is that I'll be out of the country on the date that the first 12 months is up. Many thanks in advance
TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about the timing for obtaining a multi-entry permit in relation to their Non O A visa expiration. They plan to travel briefly to secure a new visa stamp for an additional year, but are concerned about the overlapping dates as they will be out of the country when their current visa is due to expire. Comments clarify that re-entry permits are linked to the current entry stamp, and it is suggested to obtain a new year’s entry stamp before their trip and then purchase the re-entry permit upon return.
