Can I extend my marriage visa in Thailand based on a monthly income statement from Australia Centrelink?

Hi all,

I currently have a 1 year marriage visa based on having 400000 baht in the bank. This is due to expire in July. My question is I would like to extend based on having the 40000 baht monthly income. Is it enough to show this income by presenting an income statement from Australia Centrelink rather than Embassy. Some forms seem to indicate this is ok. I believe I am to late to show this income in my Thai bank account. Does anyone have first hand knowledge.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user seeks advice on extending their Thai marriage visa by proving a monthly income of 40,000 baht from Australia via a Centrelink income statement, instead of using bank funds, noting concerns about the timing for showing this income in a Thai bank account. Responses suggest that an income affidavit is typically required from the embassy, and alternatives like using an agency are mentioned.

"Use only one language either English or Thai only" LOL. Unless you're fluent in Thai like I am, chances are your wife will be switching back and forth between Thai and English (or another foreign language that you both speak).

very strange, because the agency I know always deposits money. They do everything according to the book, except for the seasoning part. If it wasn't for that, very few people would be using an agent, save for those who couldn't show proof of funds in their account.

Actually you do, but the agency takes care of the two month "seasoning" requirement for you, meaning they deposit the money into your account and then you transfer or hand it back to them after the letter from the bank has been issued.

for retirement it was 18 k with the TVC in Bangkok the marriage visa was long time ago so not sure exactly what i paid although i do remember it was more expensive then the retirement, the reason i use agencies is not because i do not need to show my bank statements or do all the application by myself,i work overseas and have a short time at home with my family,so to use and agent is easy, fast, efficient, stess free,I have never once had them deposit any funds into my account, and never even left my house even to obtain the non O visa, contact the Thai Visa Centre in Bangkok, they will give all ghe information you required

its a marriaged based visa, not a retirement, the cost are 30-35k, a marriage visa is one month under consideration and the next higher immigration check the staus plus interview neighbors, so please not spread misinformation. U can call your agency and tell us the price, for a non o based on marriage without 400k in the bank 😎

then let us know the cost, how much the agency charge. I did it once, this agency charge for retirement 15k and for marriage 35k, because they can't do it here, they will take your passport to another state, not remember which it was, if you below 50, there is no retirement option.

Income affidavit must come from your embassy. Australia, UK and USA embassies (perhaps others) no longer issue these.
