Can I use a bank statement as proof of income for my visa extension instead of a letter from the Embassy?

Good afternoon to all.

Last year I extended my one year visa from a O-A "pensioner" to a O non imm based on marriage with a Thai, this because my local insurance was not included in the new insurance requirements for a O-A visa, and I used for the proof of income a letter of the Embassy stating my income.

I'm wondering if this year instead of the letter from the Embassy ( I'm staying far from Bangkok) I can use a Bank statement( I will go to Chiang Khan Immigration Office).

Thank you for your always clear response.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user seeks advice on whether they can substitute the Embassy letter for a bank statement as proof of income for their O non-immigrant visa extension, following a marriage to a Thai national. Community responses suggest verifying with the local immigration office in Chiang Khan, as they may allow the extension based on discretion and circumstances. However, there are stipulations on using bank statements based on the method of proving funds.

, you can go to the immigration office and ask them what you should do (showing them your booked flight out of the country)

There is a chance they can issue the year extension early (they have the discretion to do it) BUT there is also a chance that they'll tell you to just leave and when you come back start over.

The answer is at your local immigration office. DON'T waste the time calling them, take your thai wife, your proof that you're leaving and go ask them what to do.

Remember if they do issue the year extension buy a re-entry permit to keep your new extension valid while you're gone and to let you get back in on it.

The only way you could use a bank statement would be if you are using the 400K baht banked money method to meet the proof of funds.

Believe it or not but IF your embassy issues the affidavit of income from abroad notary letter you cannot use monthly transfers to show proof of funds, you HAVE to use the embassy letter

I got on 11 may the "under consideration stamp", and I should go back to immigration on 28 of June, unfortunately I must go back to Italy asap

, what are my visa alternatives? I will have to start all over again?

last year I did the extension and change from a OA to a O based on marriage in Thailand. Thos year I'm still in Thailand and I would like to extend a O visa with the Bank statement proving that I have 400k. for more than two months.

That's totally fine, (y) your options are using the 400K baht in a thai bank account in your name only for 2 months before you apply for your extension OR getting the income affidavit from your embassy stating you get more than 40K baht a month in income from abroad.
