TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses the possibility of extending an education visa in Thailand without leaving the country after the first year. It highlights that typically, only education visas from universities for degree programs may be extended beyond one year, while other education visas require leaving Thailand and reapplying. Community members suggest options like doing a border run or using services for a quick trip to the border to obtain a new visa stamp.

Visa runs can be fun. I've done at least 15. Take the train to the nearest border crosing, (Nong Khai is a convenient crossing point for me) stamp out of Thailand, pay for a visa on arrival then re-enter Thailand...or since you paid for a visa take a short holiday. Myanmar border isn't cool now. Cambodia-Thai border at Poipet is full of hustlers, and there are some dicy characters at Cambodian immigration. I haven't used the Malay border. Lao PDR is cool, or Vietnam is a short cheap flight; inexpensive rooms and great food.
Good luck.

Ask if you can do a border bounce using a service, that takes you to the border to get a new stamp, then takes you back again. What passport do you have?? Do you get the 30 day visa exempt stamp?? If so, I think the processing time for the ED visa is one month, so there should be enough time.
After finishing first year of ED visa , leave the country come back and re apply for ED visa. Will immigration allow a second year of extensions? Thank you
The only education visa that can go longer than a year is one from a university when you are studying to get a degree. All other EDs end after 1 year of extensions and you must leave the country at that time.
