Hi everyone. I'm on an education visa which expires on the 1st of March. I am leaving to America on the 13th. Is it possible to extend my visa for two weeks at immigration or do I need to do a visa run and go on a tourist visa?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is on an education visa expiring March 1st and is questioning whether they can extend it for two weeks at immigration or need to do a visa run. Responses indicate that a two-week extension is not possible and recommend doing a visa run to gain a new 30-day visa exempt entry instead.

Bridgid, been there and done that thanks to the sound advice from Tod.
Rather than take any chances, especially if you’re going to border bounce at say Mae Sai.
It’s easy and fast to grab a piece of paperwork from school saying you will stop studying on 1 March.
About one week before that head to Immigration with the paper from school.
They can cancel your visa effective 1 March.
Then you are free to leave and enter at all border crossings and come back visa exempt for free.
And if you return to Thailand at a later date and want to study again there’s no headaches. You did it all by the book.

nope, there is no two week extension on an ED visa.
Just go to a border, bounce out and back to get a NEW 30 day visa exempt entry..
There's no need to go to a thai consulate to buy a new 60 day tourist visa if all you need is 2 weeks more
