Ill try again. There are two families both move to Bangkok for education of the children and parents as dependent, both families have the same nationality.

Family 1 enters on August 3 with a 90 days visa (Ed and non immigrant O) and get stay until Nov 1. In mid October they get extension of stay and get a stamp until 30/06/19 so total 11 months they all get exactly the same parents and children.

Family 2 enters on August 20 with a 90 days visa (Ed and non immigrant O) and gets stay until Nov 18 today they get extension of stay and get a stamp until 30/10/19 so total 14 months and 10 days they all get the same parents and children

My question is given the exact same situation why this difference ?

TLDR : Answer Summary
Two families relocated to Bangkok for educational purposes, both holding the same type of visa. Despite their similar situations, they received different durations on their extensions of stay. Family 1 entered on August 3 and, after an extension, was granted a total stay of 11 months. Family 2, entering on August 20, received a total of 14 months and 10 days after their extension. The community suggests that differences could be due to the application timing of their extensions or possibly linked to the letters from their school.

Happened to me... I complained and they answered that the date they pick is directly linked to the letter from the school...

The mistake was there.

@Serge ********
that’s probably it, but letters of the school are in Thai I’ll try to find out....

Maybe they applied for their extentions of stay at different times. Whatever time you have left on your origional stay is added to your extention

Okay then.. Nice to know :)

@Mikkel ******
No, depends on the school and the course the students are taking. It's nothing to do with term times
Mikkel *******
He stated that both schools ends in June 2019.. Are you saying that some schools would count that as being admitted until October?
Steve *******
@Mikkel ******
It can matter, depending on the school
Mikkel *******
But.. there can be a difference in when the school year starts in different schools yes
Mikkel *******
Should not matter if on the same school if the school terms is the same.
Mikkel *******
Or maybe he has the wrong info ;)
Steve *******
@Mikkel ******
Are they both at the same school?
Mikkel *******
He said it was. Thats why i say it must be a mistake, either in the papers or from the IO
Steve *******
@Mikkel ******
. Maybe their school terms arent the same
Mikkel *******
No, but within the same month of August.. So 4 months difference in the admitted to stay stamp seems off if their school terms is the same.
Steve *******
@Mikkel ******
Did both families enter on the same date?
Mikkel *******
@Steve ******
that does not add up, when both families entered in August on a single entry that got extended.. The permitted to stay date is 4 months apart on the extensions.. Maybe the letters from the schools where different. Could be a typo in the letter, or a mistake from the IO. If the school terms is the same it has to be a mistake somewhere.

Children of both families are going to the same school and have the same letter stating the end of their course?

Ok let’s see if my friend agrees.... they might reduce his stay rather then extending mine.... but I’ll give it a try...
Robert *******
Than I would say, go together with all the passports back to the Immigration Office where you get the Extensions and demand an explenation of the difference in Extensions of stay. Let us know the outcome.

Schools both end mid June

Age of children does not matter, If school ends for family one at
****
/2019 than the Extension of Stay is till that date, if school of family two ends on
*****
/19 than their Extension ends on that date.

School is different but children are similar ages schools have the same curriculum. The letters are given in Thai so that I don’t know.
