TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires if they can renew their student visa two months before it expires, noting upcoming travel for data collection. A commenter advises that extensions can typically be requested 30 to 45 days prior to expiration, but suggests attempting to renew early with a letter from the school explaining the necessity of the travel for educational purposes.

Extension can be asked 30 till 45 days early, so I guess 2 months early is to long. But with a letter of the school that your travel plans are needed for the Data collection as part of your Education I certainly would give it a try at Immigration.
