Hello there, hope all of you find good and safe. Thanks in advance for your guide and support on my topic, you’ve very helpful in the past and hope someone here can support my question.

I’m on a ED Visa learning Thai language. As any other my school is closed, but I’m taking care of my studies by my own at home while situation here gets better.

I made my first extension on March 31, and I’ve received until May 14 on my stamp. Also I went to MOE to make exam. I’ve contacted the school to receive indications about how to proceed, and they said I’m currently covered by the new inmigration rules until the July 31, and I just need to keep studying at home while they open again and request a new extension near end of July, as usual.

I’ve looked inmigration rules and also tried to call them many times, but nobody picks the phone. I just want to double check school information with your recommendations, since I’ve dizzy reading too much information here. Just want to be sure and safe that I can just keep at home and not need to go inmigration or do some else.

I’m attaching my stamp on this post. Thanks again for time and I’ll really appreciate your comments.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is currently on an ED visa for learning Thai, with concerns about extending their visa amid the school closure due to COVID-19. They have received information from their school indicating they are covered by new immigration rules until July 31 and only need to keep studying at home. However, they are seeking confirmation on whether they need to physically visit immigration or not. A commenter suggests that the school could provide paperwork to facilitate the normal extension process, which would ensure the user remains on 'hard stamp extensions' rather than relying on temporary amnesty.

Schools can still get the Ministry of Education paperwork so you can go get your extension like normal without any problem. I know several bangkok schools that give their students the documents so they can go get their extensions.

I would say IF you can get the paperwork from your school and go get your extension GO do it. (there's no one at the immigration office now and you'll be in and out really quickly)

AND

That way you won't be on the amnesty and won't have to worry about what happens to your ED visa/extension once the amnesty is over because you will have stayed on "hard stamp extensions"

I see you study at Pro Language. I'd see if they can give you the paperwork and just go get your extension like normal ON time. (which means BEFORE the 1$th of May)

thanks, school sent me website of immigration with the rules of amnesty, and they said that we need to follow that way, so now not sure if we have enough time to get MOE papers before 14 May. As this indication it’s given to all students I’m not really sure how to proceed.
