Hello, i am currently holding an ED visa. My visa and re-entry both expire on June 30th, 2020. I came back to my country for an important short visit first week march and was due to return by April but due to all international flights being restricted to thailand - i am unable to. Please note, I do not have any outgoing restriction from my country. My University is not helpful and seems lost about my case as well - they always process my visa papers and i should be getting an extension because i am still due to finalize my graduation requirements. Embassy has not responded to my emails yet. As i am out of the country, will i fall under visa amnesty where my visa is also extended till July? Or do i have to re-apply for a new visa all over again?

I would be grateful if someone could address my confusion. Tia!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking clarification on whether their ED visa will be automatically extended due to international travel restrictions preventing their return to Thailand. They were scheduled to return in April 2020, but their visa expires on June 30, 2020. The embassy has not responded to them, and their university is not providing assistance.

You're out of the country. There is no extra regulation for this, it just means as soon as you can enter Thailand again and you passed the valid until date mentioned on the visa or the permitted up to date of the Extension of Stay, you have to apply for a new Non Immigrant ED Visa before you make your way into Thailand.

I was suspecting that would be the case :( I was hoping i would be given amnesty on the ground that i am unable to enter thailand due to thai flight restrictions. Flights from bangladesh resume from June 15th and i will be missing out on amnesty by one day. :( Thank you for your input!
