I know somebody posted about a similar situation a few days ago, but the comments have now been turned off. Both my one-year extension of stay and my work permit expire on April 30th. I'm a teacher, and I've been offered another position at another school to begin in May. They're not sure how I or they should proceed given the COVID-19 situation and with foreigners not being able to get back into the country once the extension of stay expires. My plan was to request a letter from the American embassy which has been discussed at length in this group, gather all relevant documents, pictures, etc., and request an emergency extension of stay sometime during the third week of April. As far as I know, this is all I can do at this point. Am I correct in that assessment? Thanks so much in advance for any guidance that can be provided.

What visa do you currently have? Can you show a picture of your visa/ extension of stay with the confidential information blacked out?
