Hello I’ve tried to search but can’t find the answer.

I’ve arrived on a 30 day visa exempt. U.K. passport. Staying in Phuket.

I’m hoping to get a 30 day extension. How far in advance from the date of expiry can I go to the office in Patong.

My expiry date is 7th August

Thanks in advance

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user, holding a UK passport, inquired about extending their 30-day visa exempt stay in Thailand, specifically how early they could visit the immigration office in Patong before their expiry date of August 7. Responses indicate that while the extension can be applied for early, the effective start date will be the day of the application. The general advice is to visit the immigration office at least a few days ahead of time, bearing in mind that offices might have holiday closures.

If you go earlier then your 30 days, they gonna stamp you the day you went there. So you might loose couple of days

not true for the 30 days extension of stay from your entry into Thailand using the tourist visa or a Visa exempt entry into Thailand. It's added to the current stamp in your passport.

THIS is true for those who seek the 60 days COVID extension of stay. It begins on day you apply for it.

it’s not possible to go earlier than 30 days on a 30 day entry.

I usually do mine within a couple of days of landing & use Blue Tree office up by Surin

The Patong office can do exempt extensions. If closer to you the office at the Blue Tree water park can do so too. They’ll add on the days so no downside to going early.

These are the common found requirements for the 30 days extension . Ask your Thai immigration office for theirs.

Pava Scotty what visa if any did you enter Thailand with?

Tourist Visa or Visa exempt on arrival?

Or ???

Pava Scotty it's not acceptable dress for your visit to the Thai immigration office...but I see some doing it. I always wear my jeans with a polo type shirt.

You can go to the Thai immigration office now if you wish.

Just remembered that Thai immigration offices in Thailand will be CLOSED on this Thursday and Friday...July 28-29 as Thai holidays.
