Hi everyone 🙂 hope you are feeling well during this turbulent corona times!

I am going to enter Thailand with an excempt visa (as a German citizen) and I want to extend it once after i arrive. Do you know if it is possible to extend it in Phuket?

And after Thailand i want to go to Malaysia by bus or train, do I need to have a ticket that confirms that I will leave Thailand before I enter Thailand or is it possible to buy it when I am in Thailand and know that my extend is going to work?

Thank you very much for your support!

TLDR : Answer Summary
A German citizen can extend their exempt visa at one of the three immigration offices in Phuket: the main office in Phuket Town, the office in Patong Beach, or at the Blue Tree water park. Regarding the requirement for an exit ticket, it varies; while some individuals manage to board flights without one, most airlines demand proof of onward travel. Therefore, it's advisable to purchase a bus or train ticket to Malaysia prior to entering Thailand to avoid complications.

In Phuket you can extend at any of the 3 immigration offices. Phuket Town main office, Patong Beach or Blue Tree water park.

As to whether you’ll need an exit ticket that is a coin toss. Some get away without one. Most have issues with their airline not allowing them to board without one. Buy a bus or train ticket to Malaysia and that’ll have you covered.
