TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about extending their Visa on Arrival for an additional 30 days while in Koh Samui. The responses highlight a critical distinction between the Visa on Arrival and Visa Exempt Entry, with one commenter stating that a Visa on Arrival cannot be extended, while another mentions that a Visa Exempt Entry can be extended for 30 days at a local immigration office for a fee.
There is a big difference in a 15 day Visa on Arrival, only available for 21 countries and a Visa Exempt Entry for 30 days available for 54 countries. So the answer should be No, unless the OP used a wrong term.
Thanks, I don't know them or don't know their passports, so I have to stick to correct terminoligy, otherwise things get very confusing for other members who now can think that a Visa on Arrival can have the 30 day Extension of Stay.
as being a German he was given a 30-day Visa Exempt entry. He can extend it for 30 more days at any immigration. Like so many others he just used the wrong term (visa on arrival) which is not what he has
I'd say that if your from Germany and you didn't get a visa before you arrived in Thailand you're on a visa exempt entry (not VOA).
Such visa exempt entries can be extended by 30days at your local immigration office for a 1900บ fee, (and depending which immigration office you'll use you may need confirmation of your landlord / hotel submitting a TM30 notice).
