Hello everyone ๐Ÿ˜ I was wondering if it's still possible for an European citizen with an exemption visa on arrival to extend it for 30 days once there? We plan on staying two month and hoping to do that instead of getting a flight outside the country and back. Also would it be a problem if the only return ticket we have is within 60 days and not 30? Are they really asking for a flight ticket to let you in the country? Thanks a lot

TLDR : Answer Summary
Yes, a European citizen with a visa exemption on arrival can extend their stay for an additional 30 days at a local immigration office for a fee of 1,900 THB. However, when entering Thailand without a visa, it could be challenging to check in for a flight if your return ticket is more than 30 days away, although immigration in Thailand would likely allow the extension.

The problem you may have with no visa is checking in for your flight if your return is more than 30 days away. Immigration would be ok with it and yes, you can extend for 30 days once here, and I understood perfectly what you meant by European citizen (EU passport).

Best option is to get the Single Entry Tourist Visa before you make your way to Thailand and get on arrival 60 days of stay. If you come in without a visa you get as European citizen (new for me, because there is no European passport) 30 days Visa Exempt Entry. You can extend this stay with 30 days at local immigration office for 1.900 Thb.
