Hey there, i´m going to renew my 30day Tourist Visa. I have a german Passport but allready stayed 2.5 Months in Thailand in January / February. I came with a 30 day visa now. Is there anything that is super important to keep in mind? Where is the best place to renew it? Here in Bangkok or better to do it in Kho Samui?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking guidance on renewing their 30-day tourist visa in Thailand, noting prior stays and their nationality. Comments clarify that they are on a 30-day visa exempt entry, not a tourist visa, and advise visiting the Bangkok Immigration office for a possible extension.

If you showed up in this country and were stamped in for free for 30 days you are on what's called a 30 day visa exempt entry <- it has that catchy name because you didn't buy a visa from a thai consulate BEFORE you came here but were stamped in for free for 30 days :P

Be that as it may

you CAN get a 30 day extension on your 30 day visa exempt entry stamp. Go to the Bangkok Immigration office out at the government complex on Chaengwattana Road and you can get a 30 day extension for 1900baht.

You won't be required to show proof of onward travel to get the 30 day extension. You need a filled out application for extension form called a TM7 (which you can download from our files section), copies of the data page of your passport, your entry stamp, your TM6 departure card, one passport sized photo and 1900baht. Those things will get you the 30 day extension at Chaengwattana AND there are copy shops in the basement that will make your copies, fill out the form and even take your photo if you need it :)

News flash, you can't renew a 30 day tourist visa because there is no such thing as a 30 day tourist visa
