Can I exit Thailand with my old passport and re-enter on a new passport without issues?

I am arranging for a new passport that will arrive to my address in the UK, when I leave Thailand it will be on my old passport and will then fly back in on my new passport. Has anyone done this recently and if so was there any issues? I will only be gone for a week collect my new passport, see family etc.
