What steps should I take to leave Thailand and return with my approved DTV while on a student visa?

Hello all, so I am currently on a student visa. I applied for DTV in Cambodia and returned to Thailand before DTV was issued. My DTV has now been approved. What is the proper procedure for leaving Thailand now? Can I just exit the country without a re-entry permit and return with my DTV? Or does the student visa need to be cancelled prior to leaving?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The individual is currently on a student visa and has had a DTV approved after applying in Cambodia. They seek clarification on whether they can exit Thailand without a re-entry permit and return using the DTV. Comments suggest that if they are still on the initial student visa, they can simply wait for it to expire and then perform a border run. If they have an extension of stay, they may need to cancel the extension with documentation from their educational institution before leaving.

You can simply wait for your student visa to expire then do a border run to activate your dtv.

It depends on what you call a visa. If you are still on your initial ED visa there is nothing for you to do BUT if you're on an extension of stay then you go to cancel it with paperwork from your school
