Hi, has anyone converted from a non-b visa to a DTV? Would like to know if anyone has tried it or if this is even allowed?

It is not allowed to convert a Non-B visa to a DTV from within Thailand. You must cancel your Non-B visa and leave Thailand without a re-entry permit. After that, you can apply for a DTV at a Thai consulate in another country.

That's great! Was there scrutiny with regards to cancelling your non b and then applying for a DTV?

You would have to cancel the Non-B then apply for DTV would you not? Leave Thailand without a re-entry permit and your B will be cancelled. Then apply for the DTV?

you cannot "convert" ANY visa to a DTV inside thailand (because they're not sold IN thailand)

You have to GO to a thai consulate in another country and apply for a DTV

yeah I understand that portion, what I meant in terms of "convert" being on a non-b and then cancelling it and then applying for a DTV. Just want to know if anyone has tried it as well and if they have been successful cause I would assume there might be scrutiny from cancelling an existing visa and then re-applying a new one

nope, people are cancelling Non-B, Non-ED, etc and going to get the DTV without any issues at all
