Once obtaining a 30 day extension because of a letter issued by your consulate, is it possible from there to get a non immigrant b visa and follow through with a work permit? Has anyone had success with this? Some employers are offering positions to teach but have no information on how to change from visa amnesty to non immigrant visa.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The feasibility of converting a 30-day visa extension granted due to a letter from a consulate into a Non-Immigrant B Visa for obtaining a work permit remains unclear. Community feedback suggests that experiences with such extensions have been limited, and most attendees recommend checking directly with local immigration officers. To successfully transition to a Non-Immigrant B Visa, it is crucial for the employer to meet specific requirements, necessitating consultations with both immigration authorities and the Ministry of Labor.

To apply for a conversion or to apply for a new Extension on Stay is depending on the fact that your employer can meet any of the requirements, sit down with your employer, take them to immigration and to the Ministry of Labor.

I understand that you like more information, but we do not have a database with requirements for all applications at the over 70 Immigration offices and for sure not a database with each and every employer and his business set up.

I was told no, but as always best ask your local IO.

To my knowledge, nobody got the 30 day extension based on the embassy letter yet, and therefore it is unknown if it can later be converted to another type of extension
