Can I Convert a Non-Immigrant O-A Visa to a Non-Immigrant B Visa for a Work Permit in Thailand?

It is not possible to convert a Non-Immigrant O-A visa (retirement) directly to a Non-Immigrant B visa for a work permit. The individual must exit Thailand and then re-enter on either a 30-day visa exempt entry or a 60-day tourist visa. After re-entry, they can apply for a 90-day Non-B visa by providing employment documentation at the immigration office, provided that office accepts in-country visa conversions. Alternatively, they can obtain a 90-day single-entry Non-B visa from a Thai consulate after leaving the country.
