If currently in Thailand on extension of stay duration (tourist visa) until 26th September and have been offered a business position ( 4 employed Thai people to one foreigner etc) as it stands what can one do? Do you still have to leave the country and return and have a tourist visa converted or other process ( not possible currently). Is the process possible internally. Genuine business proposition. Interested in the mechanism of obtaining a OA visa (I believe) while in situ. Thanks.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The poster is currently in Thailand on an extension of stay related to a tourist visa but has received a job offer. They seek advice on whether they must leave the country to obtain a Non-Immigrant B visa or if there are options for converting their tourist visa while staying in Thailand. Comments clarify that conversion to a Non-Immigrant visa is not possible while on amnesty, and the OA visa can only be obtained from a Thai consulate outside the country of the applicant's passport. The importance of consulting with the employer and local immigration office is emphasized.

You have me confused with someone who cares what other people think...

Sadly I am not known for my stellar interpersonal skills :P ,

I am however known for my accurate and timely visa/extension advice and my extremely high opinion of myself ;) .

You want someone to hold hands around the camp fire and sing Kumbayah, find someone else cause it ain't me.

You want accurate, visa/extension advice, or need to know what to do in xxx, yyy, zzz situation, ask away.

Put on your big boy pants, it's time to nut up or shut up. :)

You need to be talking to your potential employer AND the immigration office that serves the area where you are to see if there are any possibilities to get an in country Non-B visa issued

I outlined why in Bangkok (and most other offices around the country) it is not possible, BUT the people you need to be talking to are the immigration office and your employer

You had to have entered the country no later than the end of March on a 60 day tourist visa, which would have taken you to May, and even if you got a 30 day extension on that (which you probably didn't) that would have only taken you to the end of June, SO your tourist visa entry stamp or any extension from it expired MONTHS ago

You are now on amnesty, (which is NO stamp and in fact only waives the penalties and fines and let's you overstay until the 26th of Sept)

So now that we sorted that out. There is no way to do a conversion to ANY in country Non-Imm visa at an immigration office while on amnesty. You need "hard stamp" days left on your passport to get thru the "under consideration" period that in country Non-Immigrant type visas go thru.

AND you can't get an O-A visa anywhere but from a thai consulate in the country your passport comes from ;)

Umm, sorry, unfortunately you can't possibly be on an extension of stay based on a tourist visa until the 26th of Sept :(

IF this is a Board of Investment company, contact the Board Of Investments for more information.

You can not get an OA visa inside Thailand.

You are also not on any extension of stay, but instead amnesty
