Hi everyone, some advice please... does anyone know of a way to convert an extended Non-B visa into a tourist visa from inside the country? I paid for the 30 day extension just before the amnesty started and was told yesterday at Phang Nga that they could only give me the final two days extra (closing the loop as advised in previous posts). They told me that another extension isn't possible now the amnesty is in force.

I have managed to find a job in a new province, but it seems I need to change to a tourist visa to begin training: apparently switching one job to another isn't possible once I fall under the amnesty visa group... If anyone has any knowledge to confirm or deny this information I'd be grateful too as I really don't understand the processes.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on converting an extended Non-B visa into a tourist visa while in Thailand. They recently encountered complications regarding their visa status due to the amnesty period and have questions about their options, primarily whether they can change visa types domestically and what effects their current visa has on job opportunities.

No, you can not change an invalid Non Immigrant B visa into a Tourist Visa inside the country.

It seems that you came to the end of your 90 day Stay you got on entry with the Non Immigrant B visa, applied for an Extension of Stay using the Embassy letter for a maximum of 30 days and from that moment on, you just wait and see what will happen in July.

You have to leave the country to apply for a new Non Immigrant B visa with documentation of your new employer.

Thanks for your answer. I suppose it’s unlikely they’ll change the process to get a new Non-B, seeing as it’s not possible to re-enter the country now for at least a month. That would be too lucky me thinks 🤔
