Can I change my Non-O multi-entry visa to an extension of stay anytime before it expires?

I have a non O Multi entry visa which is valid until October. If I want to change to the extension of stay (I think its called), can I do so at any time before October or can it only be done a certain number of days before my visa expires?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A Non-O multi-entry visa holder can apply for an extension of stay starting 45 days before their current permitted stay ends, as indicated by their entry stamp. This extension is separate from the visa's expiration date. It's advisable to apply early to avoid issues, and the extension can last up to one year, subject to meeting the requirements.

You use the TM7 application for extension of stay form. It's two sided, print it on one paper front to back.

You should swing by the immigration office BEFORE you are going to apply for your extension and get the hand out that lists the requirements to get a yearly extension based on marriage because they are far different from the requirements to get a visa from a thai consulate in another country

I thought it was this post where I asked about my new passport coming back from the UK whilst my Non O is under 30 days consideration but I can't see it now. I got a message from DHL saying my passport is on its way to Thailand, so what is it that I need to get from British embassy you mentioned?

Can the extension be the 1 year where by I just report every 90 days and show the cash in the bank?

Steve . It shuts 12-1 and pretty busy at 1.00 . But less busy than morning - people queue from 7.00 or earlier. I use an agent and no queue and in and out

I read about people going early morning to queue up and get a ticket at immigration. What is the latest time or best time to go to immigration? Does it usually quieten off in the afternoons or later in the morning or is it adviseable to get down very early?

Including both sides of your arrival card which isn't on the list above. Black and white is ok. Take everything you have. You can race downstairs and get copies if you miss something

we always go loaded up for these type of things. Black and white copies okay or need to be coloured?

And you need photocopies of all documents too signed by you and your wife.

One more thing on the list. Your wife. She must accompany you when you apply for the extension.

There are only 2 extentions you can get, 1 year or 60 days.

You're confusing two separate things.

The Non-O VISA <- that you got in a thai consulate in another country is NOT the thing that lets you stay IN thailand. :O It let's you ask to be let in. It's the rectangular stamp you got when you entered the country (in your case a 90 day stamp) that lets you be able to stay IN the country.

As people pointed out in Bangkok, you can apply for an extension when you have 45 days or less left on your current entry stamp from your Non-O visa (the visa expiration date has nothing at all to do with it).

Earliest is 45 days before your existing admitted to stay stamp expires, some Imm Offices are 30 days

You can apply for extension starting 45 days before the date you are allowed to stay until (that's the date indicated on your last entry stamp)

I had non 0 Visa too, i extended 2 times before my visa expired. As I remember around more 30 days early is okie. Because in case, last time I had problems, then i had enough time to prepare again.

My marriage visa was sorted out with no problems, from start to finish, and attended the wedding to ensure everything was correct.

and what does this have to do with the O/P applying for a yearly extension of stay based on marriage from an existing Non-O vias entry stamp?

I’m going to apply for a retirement visa, in my opinion employ a reputable Thai firm based in Thailand who specialises in this field of work.

If you have half a clue (which would encompass most people here) you can "push your own paper" and go from a marriage extension to one based on retirement without needing to employ a "reputable thai firm based in thailand who specialises in this field of work"

however if you have more money than brains you can find someone to hold your hand and push the paper for you if you wanted to.

It is hardly a tough thing to do..
