TLDR : Answer Summary
Yes, it is possible to change from a Tourist Visa (TR) to a Non-B visa inside Thailand, but there are specific requirements. Your employer may need to contact the local immigration office for guidance, as not all offices allow this conversion. Moreover, there must be at least 15 days remaining on your current stay for the process to proceed. It's recommended to have your employer handle the necessary paperwork and visit the immigration office together to ensure compliance with all requirements.

I think your employer should contact the immigration office down there and see if they can do a conversion from a tourist visa to a 90 day Non-B inside the country. Some immigration offices can't/won't do it.

Yes, but you need a minimum of days on your current stay and your employer needs to meet all the requirements of Immigration. To know this all best is to visit with your employer the immigration office in your area.
