Hi all, just a quick question โ€“ I am coming to the end of my 30 day tourist visa - so I am going to Vietnam for the weekend. When I return to Bangkok DMK will I be able to purchase an extra 30-day visa for 1900THB at the airport on top of the standard 30-day passport stamp? Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
The original poster is inquiring whether they can purchase an extra 30-day visa for 1900THB at DMK Airport in Bangkok on top of their existing 30-day tourist exemption stamp after returning from Vietnam. The responses clarify that the 30-day stay is an exemption and can be extended at a Thai Immigration Office, but there is no purchase of an additional visa available at the airport.

Ok. Good to know. This was Bangkok Chaengwattana.

Last week I went to immigration & got a 30 day extension. I put my address on the form but wasn't asked to provide proof of address.

If you go get a 30 Day Extension you may have to show a Rental Agreement Or a receipt from a Guest House or Hostel...

All that I wrote can happen IF your passport is not already filled with Exemption Entries into Thailand or a mix and match of Exemption Entries, Extensions of Stay and Tourist Visas

I had just never seen it explained in such a simple manner, I guess the infantryman in me needs things broken down as simple as can be. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Yes -- as we all did

Yeah I'm in the process of learning.

There are people here who know more -- but this particular aspect of visas is fairly commonly known --- it just takes a little while to pick up how it works .

You sir, seem to know your shit. I appreciate that.

First off the 30 days you are here now that is just ending is not a visa. It is an Exemption from not having bought a visa prior to coming to Thailand. The 30 Day Exemption stay that you are on now can be Extended another 30 days at a Thai Immigration Office for 1900 Baht.

If you go to Vietnam for a few days without doing what I just wrote above... When you come back you will be stamped in with another 30 Day Exemption Stay ... (not a visa).

Note: There is no 30 day Visa...
