Thank you for your help

my question is I went to the border and got a 30 day tourist visa last month expires on December 26

can I go to the immigration office by the airport here in Chiang Mai and get a 30 day extension this week?

and also next question is would it be extended from the December 26 when my visa runs out?

I will probably go on December 12 which is around two weeks before it expires

Thank you for your help

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring about the possibility of extending their 30-day tourist visa in Chiang Mai by visiting the immigration office. Specifically, they want to know if they can apply for the extension a couple of weeks before their visa expires and whether the extension would start from the date of application or the expiration date of the original visa.
