Hello everyone,

I am Iranian and currently in Thailand with a one-year student visa. If I want to apply for the Thailand DTV visa for next year, do I necessarily need to return to my home country, or can I apply from neighboring countries as well?

TLDR : Answer Summary
An Iranian citizen currently on a one-year student visa in Thailand is inquiring about the application process for a Thailand DTV visa next year, specifically whether it is necessary to return to Iran or if it can be applied for from neighboring countries. Responses indicate that the best option is to apply from the home country or a country of residence prior to applying. Importantly, applications cannot be made from within Thailand due to strict immigration controls, especially concerning student visas.

You can apply "everywhere ( some exception )", but the best place may be your passport country, or country where you stay before

The requirement is that you cannot apply from inside Thailand

Are you now in your first 90 days of the Ed Visa?

Or are you now on a 90 day extension?

Are you now attending the Thai language classes which you signed up for?

Be aware of the current crackdown on those who have obtained the Ed Visa and not attending classes.

Thai Immigration has already cancelled 10,000 Ed Visas held by those who are not attending classes.
