TLDR : Answer Summary
A user is seeking a reliable Thai immigration agent to assist with applying for the DTV visa. However, community responses indicate that the DTV visa is currently not available for application. Updates suggest that more information will be released soon, with specific application requirements mentioned, including a 10,000 baht fee and a minimum of 500,000 baht in the applicant's bank account. It was advised that applications must be submitted from outside Thailand, and there's uncertainty about tax obligations. Users are encouraged to check the online E-Visa system for any developments.
this looks good, sorry for ignorant question is DTV applicable now, can we apply and any idea abt taxes, do we have to pay taxes to Thai govt or not..?
I guess you will have to wait for 1 to 2 weeks until all the fine print has landed on the desks of every embassy and consulate. However I would check in the online E-Visa System, as they have been working on the E-visa system since yesterday. Maybe changes are visible by tomorrow
I’m not currently within Thailand but looking forward to getting the DTV and heading there! The lack of long term visa was only thing keeping me from Thailand!

The Thai MFA clearly states regarding Extension of Stay of the DTV visa:
(through the Thai Immigration Bureau)
5 years Multiple Entries
180 days per entry
1-time for a period not exceeding 180 days per entry. After the maximum stay of 180 days + 180 days needs to depart the country and re-enter Thailand with
All information currently available in more and more details suggests that the DTV will indeed be a 5 year multiple entry visa with a 180 day validity each visit. So, as long as people leave every 180days for a quick border run, it can very well be a long term visa.
Yeah, only one extension. Some reports say you can leave after the extension and then apply again, others say no. Have to wait for the full details later this month.....hopefully. Still a lot of unknowns.
I wish it would work like that. But very unlikely. Since it would be the end of other visas like Thai Privilege (former Elite) . They are not going to kill the goose that lays the golden egg… On my opinion it will work like B1 visitor visa in USA: valid 10 years but foreign “visitors” are only allowed to stay a maximum of 180 days per calendar year on US 🇺🇸 territory .
