Can I change my student visa to a work visa without leaving Thailand?

Hello group !! I have questions about changing my students visa into working visa.

I’m going to graduate in the next 2 month. I really want to continue working in Thailand but from what I have read so far, there’s no way to change the type of visa without leaving Thailand. And some of the countries are not open for any flights in Thailand yet. I don’t really know what I supposed to do now. I’m very appreciate it if you have any advice.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquired about transitioning from a student visa to a work visa in Thailand before graduation. They expressed concerns over the possibility of changing visa types without exiting the country, especially given the current travel restrictions. Responses from the community suggest varying experiences: some indicate it is now possible to change visas within Thailand, while others note that historically, leaving the country was necessary for such changes. Engaging with local immigration could provide clarification.

This was 9 years ago, that I changed my ED visa extension to a type M media visa extension, and got a work permit, without leaving the country. It should be no different, unless the rules changed since then. A problem I ran into was not with my ED visa extension being still valid, but with my valid re-enter permit. It took officers at Chomchuri square immigration office about 30 minutes to figure out what to do with that, and conversations with three different levels of supervisors. Then it was decided I had to sign a letter they typed up, not a form letter, authorizing it to be voided. That was a strange day.
