TLDR : Answer Summary
The post inquires about the use of a sponsored letter for obtaining a DTV visa in Thailand. A comment suggests that only the company an applicant is employed by can issue a sponsor letter, which primarily applies to remote workers. However, concerns are raised about the feasibility of a company sponsoring a remote worker, given Thai laws prohibiting business activities with Thailand without proper visas.

I was told in my embassy that only the company you work for can make a sponsor letter so only relevant for remote workers. But why would a company would sponsor you to work remotely in Thailand if you are not allowed to do business with Thailand 🤷🏻‍♀️.

Happy to hear other stories about it

Okay thank you for this informtion. So basically you cant get a 3 party person to be a sponsor for you. It must be the company that you are currently working for.

I think it’s at the discretion of each embassy they make their own rules
