Can I apply for a DTV visa from a neighboring country after my 60-day visa exempt period in Thailand?

Apologies if this question has already been asked (don’t want to scroll through all past questions to check).

I am looking for some clarity on the application process for a DTV visa (the remote worker one, based in Thailand working for a company outside of Thailand). If someone was already in Thailand on the 60 day visa exempt, could they travel to a neighbouring country after the 60 days and apply for the DTV visa from there? Say Vietnam for example. Or does it have to be applied for from their home country (in this case the UK)?

Also can the 60 day visa exempt be extended at an immigration office for 1,900 THB for another 30 days (90 in total) or is 60 days the max?

Thanks 🤞

TLDR : Answer Summary
The DTV visa (Digital Nomad visa) can be applied for from a neighboring country after utilizing a 60-day visa exempt entry in Thailand. You can travel to a nearby country, like Vietnam, and apply for the DTV visa through the Thai embassy there using the e-visa system. Additionally, it's possible to extend the 60-day visa exempt entry by applying for a 30-day extension at an immigration office in Thailand for a fee of 1,900 THB.

If your staying near a land border you can also do border run through agency and get more 60 day exemptions. You can only "fly" into thailand twice a year, but land entries with support of Thai business is 60 + 60 + 60 ... 3000-4000 for border run.

Yes, you can go to another country and apply through the Thai embassy there through the evisa system. You don't have to wait until your 60 days is up, you can go at any point. And yes you can get a 30 day extension of your tourist entry from your local immigration office.
