Hello everyone. After 3 years in March I returned to Italy and then after 4 weeks I returned to Thailand. I am married to a thai citizen in italy and so when i back in Italy I got my original marriage certificate and now I am registering the marriage in Thai. The problem is that I returned with no visa so i have 30 + 30 days. The extension will expire on 10 June and the company I contacted for the marriage transcript is late and told me that it is not ready for that date. On monday i will go to immigration and try to apply for a covid visa. could you suggest other options besides this one? because i am not sure they will grant me the covid visa as before returning to italy i was full of covid visas in my passport. Thank you

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on extending their stay in Thailand after returning without a visa, as their current 30-day extension is expiring soon. They married a Thai citizen in Italy and are registering their marriage in Thailand, but they're facing delays in receiving their marriage transcript. The user is considering applying for a COVID visa but is unsure if it will be granted due to having previously held multiple COVID visas. Commenters suggest trying to apply for the COVID extension, exploring a family visit extension, or considering getting married again in Thailand, although that may not be viable due to their existing marriage.

Just get married in Thailand. Very easy.

not if you're already married

Is your wife here or in Italy? If she's in Thailand you could get a visiting Thai family extension for 2 months. You can only get this once per entry so if you can get a Covid extension I'd use that first

Thanks for the reply. I don't think I can do it with Italian marriage certificate (Thai is not ready yet) anyway I will ask

take your wife, the italian marriage certificate, her thai i/d her house book listing your proof of where you're staying and go see if you can get the 60 day visit thai family extension and if they say no, see if you can get the 60 day covid extension.

As I said, you have little to no options left ๐Ÿ˜•

I was going to mention that too, BUT I wasn't sure they'd accept the italian marriage certificate (without it being translated & certified) for the 60 day extension based on visiting family ๐Ÿ™ That's why I didn't mention it.

How can get a family extension based on being married if he hasnโ€™t got the marriage certificate in Thai or registered in Thailand.

Unless I am reading it wrong

All you can do is go TRY to get a 60 day covid extension. They'll either give it to you or deny you and tell you to leave/come back on a new visa exempt entry stamp.

Not much you can do about it now seeing as your stay expires this Friday.

Usually those translation services don't take all that long to translate from the issued language to english/thai and then get it certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs office

Thanks for the reply. My fear is that if i leave, later i will have problems getting back. When i returned to bangkok in april i had a lot of problems because my passport was full of covid visas. I managed to get in because my wife was with me and she showed all the certificates and explained everything. in addition I had with me a return ticket, address where I live and

bth cash. I have been to immigration more than 2 hours.

all you can do is try and see. You have no other options really

Nothing stopping you applying for the COVID extension. Take your wife with you and explain the situation. See what they say.
