Hi Tod, i need to do my renewal of extension of stay (married to a thai) in BKK and i understand that right now we can only go apply for the extension 3 days before the expiry date.

My current extension of stay expires on 8th Sept and 3 days before unfortunately falls on a Sunday. Do you think I am able to go on the 3rd Sept (Friday)?

Also is the online appointment booking website down at the moment? Thank you!

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user inquired about renewing their extension of stay in Bangkok due to a weekend complication. The current extension expires on September 8th, and the user asked if they could apply on September 3rd, which is a Friday, given that application should be made three business days before expiration. Responses clarified that the application should be submitted on Monday, September 6th, counting only business days, and further confirmed the online appointment system is currently down.

Hi Tod, one more question, for the renewal of extension of stay based married to a Thai wife, the form to use is TM 7?
Benjamin ******
@Jerry ****
The form is a TM7. You can find the form at

I do not know if Bangkok immigration will accept the form or not (some immigration offices are picky). If you want to use this form, print it off double sided (front and back on one page).

I fail to see why certain immigration offices (Chonburi included) refuse the downloaded TM7, and make you hand write an almost identical form.

Can you enlighten me?

>and make you hand write an almost identical form.

Each immigration offices have slightly different forms because they try to capture slightly different information. There's no reason why to ask

Almost identical is the reason.

I agree with Benjamin on that. I think that Monday would be the soonest you could go

Just make sure you have your ducks in a row and quacking in time and show up Monday to get the extension done. That way IF you need another document or something you still have tues/wed to sort it out

Awesome! Thank you!

Generally the guidance is to go 3 business days before your extension expires. So just pretend the weekend days don't exist when you're doing the calculation.

Strange world; in my world wednestday would be the expirring day, Tuesday would be one day before expiring, Monday would be two days before and Friday would be three business day before......?

@Jens-Jรธrgen ********
Sadly, you live in the Thai world ๐Ÿ™ In Thailand, the last day (Wednesday) is day one, so Tuesday and Monday would be days two and three, respectfully.

I think you mis-remembered what he'd written ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

The FIRST day he could apply (3 days before his extension expires) is a Sunday, his actual stamp expires on a Wednesday. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I'll let

be the final decider to this question, however I understand that it's three BUSINESS DAYS. September 8th is a Wednesday, so counting backwards you can file is on Monday, September 6th, Tuesday, September 7th, of Wednesday, September 8th.

>Do you think I am able to go on the 3rd Sept (Friday)?

I would say no. The worse that would happen is they would tell you to return on Monday.

>Also is the online appointment booking website down at the moment?

Yes, it's still down ๐Ÿ™
