Hello everyone. I am from the Netherlands and entered Thailand on a visa exemption 30D. Then extended for a tourist visa (another 30 days). And now, I would like to extend again for at least a month. The covid extension is possible until 25JUL and my current visa expires 31JUL.
Questions :
1. Can I apply again for a 30D tourist extension?
2. Can I apply for a covid extension, when my current visa is for tourism?
2. When applying for a covid extension, and it's rejected, until when can I stay in the country? Is it the expiration date of my current visa, or will I just get 7 days to leave the country? I'm in doubt whether I could go tomorrow already.
Thanks a lot!
Best, Stephanie

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user, a Netherlands national, is seeking advice on extending their stay in Thailand after initially entering on a visa exemption and subsequently extending for tourism. Key points discussed include the inability to apply for an additional 30-day tourist extension, the possibility of applying for a COVID extension despite current tourist visa status, and clarifications regarding the implications of application rejection on their stay duration.
Hi Stephanie, I am also from the Netherlands and I entered Thailand with a visa exemption 30days. Then extended with a tourist visa (30 days) with expiration date of July 24th. Today I went to immigration (at Koh Phangan) for a covid-extension (60 days). They approved but gave me 55 days instead of 60 days because they started counting from today instead of July 24th Anyway, you could apply for a 60 day covid-extension, same costs as the 30days tourist extension.
So you entered with a 30 day Visa Exempt Entry and already got the 30 day Extension of Stay based on Tourism.
1. NO, you can only extend a visa exempt entry once with another 30 days based on toursim.
2. Yes, you can always apply for the Extension of Stay based on being unable to travel, but to issue this is the decision of the Immigration Officer.
When your application is not approved you get 7 days to leave the country from the day of application or if the Immigration Officer is lenient he might give these 7 days from your last day of current stay.
