Hi guys so I came over from the U.K. On a tourist visa January..got extended then left for Laos been refused twice for tourist visa.. have now used all my land border crossings with visa exemptions.. I would never dream about posting this in the other group but everyone seems a bit more relaxed.. I have family coming out next month to visit me and my gf in Yaso...what's my best option to stay here another month or 2 before I go back to U.K.. is this online visa an option ..or is there a method of flying which they will not give me any issues?...

Any and all suggestions or cheeky comments Much welcomed thx

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on how to extend their stay in Thailand after facing multiple refusals for a tourist visa and having exhausted land border crossings. Suggestions from the community include applying for an education visa, considering a flight to a nearby country to secure a new visa, or exploring the option of getting married for visa benefits. Additionally, concerns about the user's ethnic background and the impact on their visa situation are raised.

You could go to another country and apply for a SETV. Ho Chi Minh was pretty friendly.

It was in February. Usual passport copies. Onward travel. Bank print outs. And a copy of my lease. That was it, I think.

They were very sweet and helpful.

I heard that Hanoi is becoming more difficult, when did you last go to HCMC for a tourist visa and what did they ask you.

Your name is Thai, I'm wondering if the visa refusal is somehow related? Are you ethnically Thai (or another ethnic group from Thailand) but have a UK passport? Is it a normal UK passport? I'm only asking this as I know Thailand has a lot of stateless people without citizenship and I wonder if this is related.

It's unusual you would have been rejected at Vientiane if you never got a visa from them before. They have tightened up on TR visas recently but rejecting you after one visa from the UK still sounds extreme.

If you do fly out and back DON'T fly into either Bangkok airport. I'd avoid Phuket too. Chiang Mai is probably safer. Few reports of the Isan airports but they are probably better than Bangkok. Fly into Bangkok with over six months here and you'll almost certainly be denied entry.

Ed visa is also a good option and should be no problem if you haven't had one before.

Fly out/in and get another visa exemption.

In theory, no limit. (Land is limited to twice per calendar year.) You may be questioned.

Ivor Paul You don't need to leave the country bro. But you do need to report to immigration every 90 days I believe. The Hand to Hand Combat School is in Chiang Mai only. They have a Facebook page where you can contact them directly. They come highly recommended and will look after you.

You may also want to consider the cost of living in Phuket is way more expensive compared to other places in Thailand.

for the Hand to Hand combat you need to leave the country?

This Phuket option of not leaving the country and getting the Ed visa. If I can do that for a year that would really help with my needs at this stage. I would love to learn Thai anyway. Just haven't really considered Phuket as my first option... but I'm running out of visa runs and I don't want to go anywhere else :D

you can do it at any school in phuket. I'm attending genius language school. With the 1 year visa and school it ran me 40k baht. Not exactly cheap but it's a good school.

you'd have to live and attend school in phuket I believe, not positive. But from what hear the success rate is 100% unlike flying to Saigon or Vientiane
