Hi all.
Apologies in advance if this has already been answered however I can't find anything on my search of the group posts.
I entered the country with a Visa exemption stamp which we extended an additional 30 days. Stamp expiry date is not until 15th of Jan. My question is, if I were to head to immigration today/tomorrow to apply for a COVID extension will I lose the remaining days left on my current visa or will the extension be onwards from the 15th?
Thanks again!
TLDR : Answer Summary
The poster inquires whether applying for a COVID extension at immigration would cause them to lose the remaining days on their Visa exemption stamp, which is valid until January 15th. Commenters suggest that the treatment of extensions can vary by office, with some offices potentially allowing the extension to begin after the current visa expiration, while others may start the count from the day of application. There is also a related concern raised by another user about eligibility for a COVID extension while on a Non-O marriage visa.
