Can I apply for a tourist visa extension 20-25 days before it expires in Thailand?

Can I extend my 60 day tourist visa 20-25 days before it expires, or do I have to wait for a shorter period before it expires?

Is there a rule on how many days before expiration I can do this?

Thanks.

TLDR : Answer Summary
You can generally apply for an extension of your 60-day tourist visa depending on the location in Thailand. In most offices, you must have 30 days or less remaining on your visa to apply for an extension. However, in major cities like Bangkok and Chiang Mai, you can apply when you have up to 45 days left on your visa. In places like Jomtien/Pattaya and Koh Samui, you must be within your last week before applying.

One more question, do I extend this visa at Chaeng Wattana IO or IT LakSi square IO?

If you arrived with a tourist visa you purchased from a Thai embassy before you traveled to Thailand you would go to Chaeng Watthana. All immigration offices are closed until Thursday. I'd recommend going next week if possible as they'll be very busy this week due to being closed for 6 days.

hello, I want to know if they add 30 days to the existing stamp date or just give 30 days from the current date.

It's an "extension" which means it's "added on".

Some of the offices advise you not to extend until the last day as you may forfeit any remaining days on your current visa

Always best to ask rather than assume 👍

a tourist extension on a tourist visa will always be added to the end.

Correct I was thinking of the time I changed my visa from a Tourist Visa to a 60 day Family visa. Some time ago but remember having to go back on the last day of my T/R extension 👍

Depends on which office you use. Bangkok allows 45 days before expiry, and I believe CM does also
