Has anyone successfully obtained a Thai DTV visa from Malaysia while staying on a 30-day Social Visit Pass?

I’m a Bangladeshi passport holder and have been working remotely as a software engineer for a US-based company for almost 3 years. I’ve been traveling between different countries for the past 2.5 years without returning to my home country, and I’m currently in Malaysia for 24 days.

I have a few questions:

1. Is a 3-month bank statement sufficient for the DTV application?
2. How long does processing usually take in Malaysia? In Bangladesh, even a regular Thai visa can take up to 45 days.
3. Can I apply from Malaysia while on a 30-day Social Visit Pass, or is Malaysian residency required?
4. Are electronic bank statements and an electronic police clearance certificate accepted?

I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who has successfully applied from Malaysia, especially as a foreign visitor rather than a resident.

1. Depends on the embassy. Most only want 3 months. But some ask for 6 months later. 2. Malaysian application posts are in this group; most seem to take anywhere between 3-4 weeks. 3. This is your defining answer - NO. You can’t apply from Malaysia while being on a social visit visa. After 30th August, you can only apply for DTV from your country of citizenship or permanent residency. This is non-negotiable. You must go back to BD.

In your current capacity, you can’t get a DTV. Go back to your home country, apply from there, and stay until you get it. That’s the only way to make it happen.
