Hi, I have been away out of Thailand for just over 2 years. Previously I was here on the Non-Imm O visa. I will be arriving back in Bangkok on the 13th August.

I will be applying for the Non-Imm O again. I have the required amount in the bank for more than the necessary time. I will be arriving as a Tourist on 30 day visa.

Without delay, I want begin the process at CW. Understanding how things change and are updated often, What forms would I need to have prepared, and do I need the bank letter verifying my funds before apply?

Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about the necessary documents for applying for a Non-Imm O visa upon returning to Thailand after two years, specifically asking about preparation and the need for a bank verification letter before applying. A commenter advises that upon arrival, the user should visit the Chaengwattana immigration office to obtain the current requirements for the Non-O visa application. It is noted that a minimum of 15 days left on the current visa stamp is required to apply, along with a 2000 baht fee for the application, which leads to a receipt for returning in two weeks for visa stamping.

You get here, and then GO to the immigration office out at Chaengwattana to get the current hand out (from Section C-1) listing the requirements for the initial 90 day Non-O visa..

You need a minimum of 15 days left on your current stamp to apply for that Non-O visa in Bangkok.

You apply, pay 2000baht and get a receipt telling you to return in 2 weeks.

When you go in then, they stamp the Non-O visa and a new 90 day stamp into your passport.

While you're out there getting that Non-O inked in, walk over to Section L-1 and get the hand out for the year extension requirements.

Then when you have 45 days or less left on your new 90 day stamp you can go apply for the year extension for 1900baht, it's issued on the spot.

Is it the same sections (C-1 and L-1) for Non-O initial Visas and extensions based on marriage?

@Graham *****
In Bangkok at Chaengwattana yes. C-1 issues visas and L-1 is for retirement, marriage, thai children, extensions

you will need to show the funds were transferred in from abroad, and in a thai bank account in your name only when you apply for the 90 day non-O. You need the bank book updated that day and you need the 'standard' bank letter too along with the other requirements listed on the hand out from section C-1
