TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is currently on a METV that expires on June 17 and wishes to know if they can apply for a Non-Immigrant B Visa while in Thailand or if they must return to their home country. Responses indicate that it is possible to apply for the Non-B Visa within Thailand, especially if the job is validated by the employer. Additionally, the current METV has been automatically extended to July 31, providing more time for application.

I would talk to your employer because you CAN apply for a 90 day in country Non-B visa from an entry stamp off a tourist visa IF you have enough days left on the stamp (in bangkok it's 15 and in Chiang Mai it's 21) ..

Your employer will know if you can do it in country or not.

You can apply for it in country. If you go back home right now, you won't be able to return until thailand opens international flights.

Also, your current visa has automatically been extended to July 31st.
