Hi, I have a question about getting a non-b type visa/extension. I had a non-b type visa/extension and work permit until my contract ended on August 31st. They were both canceled and I am now on the visa amnesty with the under consideration stamp in my passport. I have received a new job offer in Bangkok and am wondering if I can complete the non-b type visa/extension process inside Thailand or if I need to leave the country. Thanks in advance for any advice you can provide.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user inquired about the process of obtaining a NON-B type visa or extension after their previous visa and work permit were canceled. They are currently on a visa amnesty and have a job offer in Bangkok. Several community members suggested that it is possible to change the status of the 'under consideration' stamp to an extension of stay and then apply for a new extension based on employment without leaving Thailand.

Mine was easy to do. School handled most of the work. Switched to a new school in June after leaving old school in April. Just got a new 1 year extension and new work permit. No new Visa. Old extension expired in November 2020. It can be done without leaving the country. Sri Racha/Jomtiem immigrations.

I've just spent months trying to sort mine under BOI absolutely nothing short of a nightmare.

@Garry *****
hear you. Had my work permit agreed by them in June.

Then 10 days before amnesty ended, they decided to reject my application with very little explanation, and no option to reapply. 5 months wasted, now I'm in a pretty sticky situation without a job offer and very little time to find another.

You SHOULD be able to close the loop (as in get the under consideration stamp changed to the extension of stay stamp on the date you go back to the immigration office) and THEN apply for a new extension of stay based on employment with documents from your new employer.

Thanks Tod!

does it mean once you get full stamp you can apply for extension of stay based on employment regardless of your old expired visa? Thanks.

, in THEORY what you are doing is just 'buying time' using the no stamp amnesty OR the embassy request extension to 'bridge' from your previous extension that you cancelled to the new one you want to apply for.

It's ONLY since this covid-shit-storm happened that people have been able to do that :O Before you would cancel an extension and either immediately apply for a new one OR leave the country and get a totally new Non-B and start over
