Hi, I am going to apply for an extension to stay on my Non Immigrant O-A Visa soon, can I apply for a multiple entry permit at the same time or is it best to leave it until I am due to leave Thailand for a visit home/holiday elsewhere ? Thank you in advance

TLDR : Answer Summary
When applying for an extension on your Non Immigrant O-A Visa in Thailand, it is recommended to first complete your yearly extension before applying for a re-entry permit. This ensures that your re-entry permit aligns with your new extension's validity.

Make sure you get the re-entry permit AFTER you get your yearly extension.

A person recently got the re-entry permit FIRST, then applied for their extension only to find out that the re-entry permit was only good up until the old extensions expiration date..

At Chaengwattana they finally put up signage stating IF you are getting an extension and a re-entry permit do the extension FIRST...

thank you, itโ€™s a lovely little office at Phang Nga, they always keep me right

As soon as the Extension of Stay is stamped inside your passport you can apply for a re-entry permit, Single is 1.000 Thb, Multiple is 3.800 Thb.
