TLDR : Answer Summary
The Non Immigrant O-A visa expires on October 24, 2024, but if you enter Thailand before that date, you will be stamped in until June 30, 2025, which is the expiration date of your mandatory health insurance. To keep your permission to stay valid if you exit Thailand after October 24, 2024, you will need to purchase a re-entry permit. Visa renewals are not applicable; instead, you apply for an extension of stay approximately 30 days before your stamped entry expiration.

Take note that if you want to keep your current permission to stay stamp alive and leave the country on or after Oct 24th 2024, you'll need to buy a re-entry permit.

Correct. When you enter on a valid OA multi-entry visa you get stamped in for a calendar year OR as long as your mandatory 100K USD health insurance is valid for (up to a year)

So as long as you enter before the visa itself expires (which you says is Oct 24th, 2024) you'll get stamped in until your current mandatory insurance expires (which you say is June 30th 2025). (y)

You don't renew visas, they run out when they run out. and your VISA is gonna run out on Oct 24th 2024. BUT your "entry stamp" <- which is what lets you stay IN thailand is valid until the 30th of June 2025.

You would apply for a yearly extension at the immigration office when you have 30 days or less left on that entry stamp (or around the end of May next year)

so what you saying is after the second year of OA visa we can do an extension for another year? Is that correct?

@Zoe **********
Yep you apply for a year extension at the immigration office where you stay by meeting the proof of funds requirements and having a new year of the mandatory 100K USD insurance

would they accept the proof of found from my Australian bank statement or the found has to b in thai bank?

@Zoe **********
nope, they will not. INSIDE the country to get a yearly extension of stay from an O or OA visa you either bank the 800K baht for 2 months in a thai bank account in your name only for 2 months before you apply for the extension

OR

You transfer in to a thai bank account in your name only from abroad a minimum of 65K baht, each month, every month for the previous 12 months before you apply for the yearly extension

Those are the only two ways to meet the proof of funds inside the country for a year extension if your embassy doesn't issue an 'affidavit of income from abroad' notary letter <- which UK, US, and Australia embassies here all stopped issuing at the end of 2018

thank you very much. I don't want to bring my money to the thai bank، so have to go back to Australia to apply for another year of OA visa. Thank again.
