Can I use funds transferred from my mother to apply for a DTV visa in Thailand?

I currently have the required funds and have had the equivalent of 500,000 THB in my bank account for over three months. However, around three and a half months ago, the funds were transferred into my account by my mother.

The money has remained in my account since then and has not been borrowed or moved around.

My question is: if I provide bank statements showing the funds have been in my account for more than three months, along with the transaction showing where the money came from, is this likely to be accepted for a DTV application?

Has anyone been in a similar situation, and if so, what was the outcome?

Thanks in advance.
Answer summary
The user inquired whether they could use funds transferred from their mother for a DTV visa application, given that the amount has been in their account for over three months. Community responses confirmed that as long as the user can provide bank statements showing the necessary balance and the source of funds, it should be acceptable for the application. Some comments noted the importance of meeting the required seasoning period for the country of application and emphasized the need for proving financial stability.

If you have the real funds I'd suggest Laos. Lead time is less. Vietnam averages about a month for approvals at the moment, whereas Laos is 5-14 days.

I do not have a consistent 500k baht for the past 3 months. But before I apply for the DTV, I had deposit in USD80k to pump up my personal account. The money comes from my retirement account which is a pension account from government. In our country, every citizen has a pension account but only for those age 55 and above then can draw out the money. So my question is for someone who pump in last minute a huge amount of cash into personal account just before applying for the DTV, anyone ever been questioned by the embassy?

Of course. The initial rule was to have sufficient for a contineous minimum balance of 6 months . Why would you go to Thailand ?

I did not maintain continuous in my personal bank account but I have funds from other type of accounts. I have retirement account. I have company account. So only top it up to personal account from retirement last minute to show when applying.

thanks for the reply. I’m trying for DTV because of the 5 years. I still need to go in and out of the country every 2-3 months. So DTV is the best choice. Of course if it fails, I have no choice but to do yearly renewal for retirement visa.

I had a similar situation and I went ahead with Issa compass- they suggested that my dad writes me a letter that he has no problem whatsoever if I choose to use those funds- along with with the passport and his signature on the letter was required. My application is still in progress but I think it should sound as sufficient evidence.

: Fortunately - the officers are considering cases but you must prove the reason and own financial stability. No guarantor

Anonymous participant You should increase the 6mths to 9mths to avoid getting a METV. 9mths is the new minimum for Softpower.

Malaysia requires funds to be seasoned for 6mths. Vast majority of embassies require 3mths or less.
