Can I extend my visa exempt status and then enter Thailand on a 60-day tourist evisa before it expires?

ORIGINAL POSTERIm currently in Thailand, from the USA and entered on the visa exempt status due to the fact my 60 day tourist evisa arrived a day late. It is still good till mid Feb. So my question is if I extend my current exempt status another 30 days, leave for a week or so and enter before my 60 day tourist evisa expires, will it still allow me an additional 60 days?
Note I have not been to Thailand for 10 years so the 180/year doesn't apply.

If you leave and re-enter whilst the evisa is still valid then you will be stamped in for 60 days.

There is no 180/year so it wouldn’t apply anyway.
You can extend your 30 day exempt entry once for 30 days.
You could then leave and return instantly (there is no requirement for a week or so - but you may want to spend a few days in a neighbouring country if you desire).
As long as you enter Thailand on or before the date your visa is valid until you will get the 60 day stamp on entry.
