Can I extend my visa exempt status and then enter Thailand on a 60-day tourist evisa before it expires?

Im currently in Thailand, from the USA and entered on the visa exempt status due to the fact my 60 day tourist evisa arrived a day late. It is still good till mid Feb. So my question is if I extend my current exempt status another 30 days, leave for a week or so and enter before my 60 day tourist evisa expires, will it still allow me an additional 60 days?

Note I have not been to Thailand for 10 years so the 180/year doesn't apply.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user wishes to know if they can extend their visa exempt status by 30 days, leave Thailand, and then return using their still-valid 60-day tourist evisa before it expires. Confirmations from commenters indicate that the extension is valid and that if the user re-enters Thailand while their evisa is still active, they will receive a 60-day entry stamp.

If you leave and re-enter whilst the evisa is still valid then you will be stamped in for 60 days.

I thought so but thanks for the reconfirmation.

There is no 180/year so it wouldn’t apply anyway.

You can extend your 30 day exempt entry once for 30 days.

You could then leave and return instantly (there is no requirement for a week or so - but you may want to spend a few days in a neighbouring country if you desire).

As long as you enter Thailand on or before the date your visa is valid until you will get the 60 day stamp on entry.
