I am Burmese citizen. I got a job that is willing to provide me Non B visa.
But the job want me to come with tourist visa first. I applied tourist visa in Vietnam but got rejected.
My question is can I change to Non B visa if I enter the Thailand with 14 days exempt (Our nationality only got 14 days) with another extension (30 days) ?

hi santiago! i had a similar experience, so just sharing in case it’s helpful.
the thai consulate in vietnam wouldn’t take my ed visa docs because i’m from “xinjiang” (an occupied area in china). i came back to thailand on a 60-day visa exemption, extended for 30 days, and my language school prepped documents for me to apply here.
the process took about 21 days. if your company can prep the docs in advance and you can get an appointment to switch visa types, it should be possible within the 14+30 days.

1 option is to come with the 14 days exemption visa first.
Then after getting required documents, you can either go out to Cambodia or Laos for Non-B again.

Lao & Cambodia need to book an appointment Currently for Vientiane, Svannakhet the usual wait is around 3 weeks to get slot.....
Phnom Penh need to book appointment and processing is minimum 10-15 working days....
Malaysia might be quicker if you can get the paperwork sorted out

burmese are the ONLY country which get just 14 days on arrival and they only get that if they come in by air. They can't even legally enter thailand by land without having bought a visa from a thai consulate before they try to crossSantiago **************

No, not really it would work.
You need to have more than 15 days minimum (more at some offices) remaining with the tourism entry stamp for you to be able to apply for an in-country initial Non-B visa.
Burmese on a 14-day entry stamp can apply for a 30-day extension, but it's not for tourism purposes, it's based on the Embassy's request.
I have never heard someone can apply for an in-country visa with an extension based on an embassy request (except special cases during the early stage of Covid chaos), you need to check with the local immigration office whether it's possible.

Or, ask your employer to prepare enough documents to apply for Non-B at the embassy/consulate outside Thailand (which embassy is according to the employer's direction).
