Do I need to provide a TM6 form for a 30-day visa exemption extension in Thailand?

Update: 30 day (visa exemption) extension at IT Square Laksi Plaza, Bangkok - super simple and smooth process. All staff and even other applicants were very easy-going and helpful. TM6 not required. Whole process took less than 30 minutes for me (having already prepared my docs, photo and photocopies the previous evening) - Plenty of passport photo and photocopying services/facilities available :) FYI

Hello! Please clarify -

Do I still need TM6 for Visa exemption 30-day extension ? I didn't actually get one when flying into Bangkok and wasn't asked for it at immigration. But, I do intend on applying for an extension and I know that TM6 used to be/maybe still is required.

Thanks !

TLDR : Answer Summary
The TM6 form is no longer a requirement for applying for a 30-day visa exemption extension if it was not received upon entry into Thailand, especially for those who entered after July 1st. Various users have shared their experiences confirming that they did not need to provide the TM6 form when applying for their extension. Other required documents include a completed application form (TM7), a copy of the applicant's passport, a 4x6 cm photo, and a fee of 1,900 Baht. The extension process is generally quick and straightforward, with many applicants reporting smooth experiences.

Hi, I am going through the same situation as you soon (visa exemption extension) at Lak Si Plaza.

Did they ask for TM30 from you?

Just to confirm, are these the only requirements needed?

- Application form TM.7

- Copy of applicant’s passport

- Photo 4 x 6 cm. (not older than 6 months)

- Application fee 1,900 Baht.

@Az *****
hi I'm about to extend mine next week, are these the documents needed? Much appreciated. 😊

I went there this morning, for this branch, they only need filling out three forms on the spot, photocopy of passport main page and entry stamp, photo of 4x6, and 1900 baht, that’s all

@Az *****
sorry one more question, did you have to book an appointment?

@Chainie *****
not needed, but you can do so online if you wish. I went there at 11am and the whole process took around an hour (even though I was asked to apply at another branch at the last stage, just waiting for them to take my money and stamp it, argh). I have a feeling the morning would be crowded and ease up after the first few batches of people cleared. Goodluck!

Feel free to personal message me if needed.

I'm also worried. At my workplace they asked about it but I never got any.

I received my 30 day extension yesterday from the Chomburi Immigration Office. They did not ask for the TM6.

I understand your question and it’s good - but how can something be required when it does not exist

alright alright 🤣🤣

A completed TM6 copy is not a requirement for getting an extension - if you were never given one (entered after July 1st).

massive thanks for your reassurance 😊😊

If you didn't get it, how could it be required? The immigration office is well aware that they stopped giving them out.

Haha 😅 Thank you... I know it seems silly to have asked but, I couldn't find any concrete information on this since the temporary suspension of TM6...

So, you don't think upon submission of my extension application they'll kick up a fuss about the fact that I don't have a TM6 (and never had one since my arrival) ?...

Thanks for responding!

I read somewhere that "if i plan to extend, I ought to make sure I do have a TM6" which confused the hell outta me, and sent me into a panic!
