TLDR : Answer Summary
A re-entry permit can theoretically be applied for at any Immigration office in Thailand. However, in practice, each office may have its own specific rules. For instance, while some offices like Phuket may require a TM30 filing with a local address for extensions from other provinces, permits are also available at international airports before departure, although this may incur an additional fee if forms and copies are not prepared.

In theory it *should* be available from any office but in practice each office will have its own rules. Some like Phuket will not issue one if you have an extension from another province unless you file a TM30 with a Phuket address.

They are however available at an international airport before departure. Many people don’t like leaving them to the “last minute” but some prefer that option even though you normally get charged 200 baht extra if you don’t have the forms, copies and picture required.

at the airport you do not need to have " forms, copies and pictures". You pay a standard fee and if you not have a photo they do it the the spot for a small fee. I believe 100 or 200 bht. no forms ot copies needed!!

oh. Now that sounds convenient. Is it really true?

Save yourself time and hassle if you download and complete form and take a passport photo, last time got through in 5 mins at BKK

baht fee.

I have been told a single re entry fee is now 1500 THB. If you apply for the re entry permit when you get your visa then it is still 1000 THB

not true. The price is the same everywhere. (except airports add the 200baht fee you can avoid by bringing your own forms and photo)

You should confirm what you say on this form. This increase is very recent and only applies if you are just applying for single re entry permit only

not true. A single re-entry is 1000.- THB on Immigration, and it's still 1200.- THB at the Suvarnabhumi Aiport inside the section "Departure 2"
