No brainer. Airport is convenient, easy, no waiting. Ten minutes all up.

Airport much easier. You actually walk right past the desk at immigration. Takes ten minutes. I do it every time. Better than wasting a day trekking out to Immigration office

that's what I suggested you do. If you're making more than one exit and re-entry, you need a multiple re entry permit.Roberto *********

You can get the Multiple Re-entry Permit at the airport. Depends how many trips out of Thailand you plan during the validity of the visa/extension.Paul *******

You're better off getting a multiple re-entry permit than wasting time on every exit doing that. One multiple re-entry permit lasts for the length of your extension.Paul ********
