Hi, I am a Bulgarian citizen and I fly to Thailand on the 25th of November.

However, I am not sure if my visa application will be reviewed by then. Have anyone applied for a single entry visa from Laos? Is it possible? Because on the internet, it only says you should apply at your local embassy. (Need single entry, not voa)

But on the Laos Thai embassy website, it says you can apply for single entry and multi entry visas, but only for the multi entry it says its only for Laos citizens, so maybe the single entry would be possible for other nationalities too?

Notes: I have paid 3 months of hotel and plain tickets and I cannot get refund for both. I applied on the 20th of October but I got rejected for wrong issue date of the passport first (I am sure it was not wrong, because I recorded a video of the process, so my friends can see how to apply too, as they were supposed to come too). So the second time I applied on the 12th of November, thinking I will not be at the end of the queue, since it was an issue with the system, but the embassy won't care of course.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A Bulgarian citizen traveling to Thailand on November 25 is unsure about applying for a single entry visa from Laos, as the local embassy's website mentions that only multi-entry visas are available for Laos nationals. Despite successfully reapplying for the visa after a previous rejection, there is concern about processing time before departure. Comments advise that applying from Laos for a single entry visa should be possible, provided the applicant is not from a country subject to extended processing times and can demonstrate adequate funds and bookings.

Hopefully you will get your visa before you arrive in Thailand. If not you can buy a visa on arrival which gives you 15 days then you will need to exit as it can't be extended. Each consulate in nearby countries has different requirements so you should check the one where you plan to go. Vientiane for example requires an appointment but savannakhet does not. You should be able to apply for a single entry visa ok as long as you can show funds along with your bookings

as I mentioned, I paid for 3 months of hotel that I cannot get a refund for. Im ok to appoint and stay in Laos even 7 days to wait (2 working days until visas are ready) since its better to lose 7 days of hotel stay than 75 days.

But I am not looking for suggestions, I just wanted to ask whether someone can apply for single entry from Laos and not from their local country

you just need to be aware that there are 2 consulates in Laos. Vientiane requires an appointment and you might not be able to find an appointment before your trip. Savannakhet does not require an appointment. You also need to check each for their requirements as they are not the same.

oh, that's a shame. I guess I should try to book an appointment immediately. Thank you!

the only issue his airline won't let him fly to Thailand without a visa unless he has a flight out of Thailand within 15 days and they also won't allow him to apply for visa on arrival unless he has a flight out within 15 days.

As long as you're not on the list of countries that takes extra processing time, you should be able to apply.

I think Bulgaria is not one of them, so I guess it's ok. Some Bulgarians in another group suggested this and told me this is how they done it when their visa application was not ready when they landed, but I wanted other opinions to.. I hope it works
